The Mercedes-Maybach S400 4MATIC is the entry-level variant of the ultra-luxury Maybach S-Class sedan, specifically designed to offer the brand's signature opulence with a more efficient powertrain. Originally launched in 2015 for markets like China, it was developed to bypass high displacement taxes while maintaining the extended wheelbase and premium interior features associated with the Maybach name.

The S400 4MATIC utilizes a smaller engine than its V8 and V12 siblings but includes all-wheel drive as standard.

Despite being the base model, the S400 provides the full "First Class" rear-cabin experience.
