Emanuel Bonnici was a Maltese politician and Member of Parliament who served in the Nationalist Party government after 1987. He was born in Valletta on May 17, 1929, and began his political career in the 1960s. Bonnici served in the Fifth and Sixth Legislatures of the Maltese Parliament, and was a key figure in the economic liberalization policies of the 1987-1992 Nationalist government, particularly as Minister for Economic Development. He passed away on September 12, 2006, at the age of 77.
