John Dalli, had served as a Labour MP in the 1970s and 1980s, he was appointed a member of the Grand Harbour Regeneration Corporation board.
The appointment was made due to Mr Dalli’s experience in the construction industry.
Mr Dalli, who hails from Gudja, was returned to Parliament four times between 1971 and 1987 and was a renowned contractor.
He was considered one of the closet associates of the late former prime minister Dom Mintoff.
