Danny Cremona was born on April 18, 1924 in Valletta . He studied at the Lyceum in Hamrun before being employed as a clerk with the British Services at Montgomery House (1952-1974).

Danny Cremona entered politics in the early 1950s, writing in The Dawn in 1951 about the establishment of the LLY. He was elected assistant secretary in 1951, general secretary (1953-1957) and president (1960-1968) of the MLP. For a time he was responsible for the MLP paper The Voice Of Malta.

Cremona, a born and self-taught speaker who roused crowds with wit and lively speeches during mass meetings, played important roles on the national executive committee and in the MLP's annual general conferences.

Danny Cremona was also President of the General Workers Union (1963-1970). In 1974 he was appointed chairman of Enemalta and doctor of the Central Bank and executive chairman of the Bank of Valletta , from which position he resigned in 1976 to contest the general elections.

After the MLP's electoral victory in 1976, Cremona was entrusted with the portfolio of Minister of Industry, Fisheries and Agriculture, a position he held until October 1978 when he took over as Minister of Tourism. He successfully contested the 1981 elections and was assigned the Ministry of Labour and Social Services, a position he held until his death on 7 July 1982.
