Borg, John J

Former Labour MP John J. Borg was elected in 1976 in a casual election for a seat vacated by then Prime Minister Dom Mintoff and in 1982 in a casual election to fill the seat vacated by the death of Danny Cremona. He unsuccessfully contested the elections of 1971 and 1987.

Mr Borg served as chairman of Sea Malta and the Malta Development Corporation and was director of the Central Bank, Malta Countertrade and Malta Freeport.

He died at the age of 69 and his funeral took place in Floriana.
