As of 8 April 2024, over 34,000 people (33,091 Palestinian and 1,410 Israeli) have been reported as killed in the Israel–Hamas war, including 95 journalists (90 Palestinian, 2 Israeli and 3 Lebanese) and over 224 humanitarian aid workers, including 179 employees of UNRWA.

May 8
Israel rejected a ceasefire deal with Hamas and stated that it would continue its offensive in Rafah.
The US has paused it's weapons delivery to Israel to limit it's operations in Rafah.
