Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners (RMCM) are an independent indie folk-rock band originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado, and currently based in Seattle, Washington. Formed in 2015 by lifelong friends Mitch Cutts, Nic Haughn, and Jakob Ervin, the group grew from a high school project into a viral sensation, amassing over a billion streams.
The band's sound balances folk songwriting with rock 'n' roll energy and raw instrumentation. They are most famous for their 2017 song "Evergreen," which became a massive sleeper hit on TikTok in 2024, eventually entering the Billboard Hot 100.
The band frequently collaborates with other folk-rock artists, such as Caamp on a remix of "Evergreen" and Mt. Joy on "Lake Missoula".
