Saudi Arabia Intercepts New Houthi Attacks on Riyadh

Saudi Arabia’s Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted two drones launched by Iran-backed Houthi forces toward Riyadh. The coalition also reported intercepting ballistic missiles aimed at Khamis Mushait, while Saudi authorities issued overnight alerts in parts of the kingdom.

The attacks are part of a wider escalation in Yemen that is now affecting Saudi cities, energy infrastructure and Red Sea shipping. The conflict is adding pressure to global oil supplies because the Red Sea is a key alternative route for Gulf exports while traffic through Hormuz remains restricted.
