Russia Intensifies Missile and Drone Attacks on Kyiv

Russia has intensified attacks on Kyiv using ballistic missiles and faster jet-powered drones, putting additional pressure on Ukraine’s air-defence systems. The Associated Press reported that Ukraine urgently needs more interceptor capability, while Patriot missile supplies remain constrained partly because of competing demand linked to the Iran conflict.

The escalation comes as Ukraine faces another difficult winter and continued threats to power and civilian infrastructure. Ukraine has responded with drone strikes on Russian military and oil facilities, but the front lines remain largely static and diplomatic efforts have not produced a sustained ceasefire.
