Deadly Russian Strike Hits Kramatorsk Bus Stop
2026, October 8Ukraine / Russia
A Russian guided-bomb attack on Kramatorsk in eastern Ukraine killed at least 33 civilians and wounded 18, according to Ukrainian officials. The strike hit a street where two city buses were operating; Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described it as a deliberate attack on civilians. Russia has not commented on the specific incident and has repeatedly denied intentionally targeting civilians.
The attack comes as Russia intensifies strikes against Ukrainian cities and energy infrastructure. Kyiv and neighbouring Sloviansk form part of Ukraine's defensive belt in Donetsk, making the area both strategically important and increasingly dangerous for civilians.
