Authorities linked to Yemen’s Houthi movement accused Saudi Arabia of launching overnight airstrikes against areas under Houthi control. The claims followed air-raid sirens and reported explosions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital. Saudi Arabia had not immediately commented on the alleged strikes, so the claims should be treated as unconfirmed.

The escalation comes amid wider regional instability and growing concerns over shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
